Nepal Flood Appeal — Love In Action on the Frontlines of Tragedy

In the mountain valleys and along the rivers of Nepal, our brothers and sisters are walking today through a valley of devastation. As an apostolic prayer movement, Generation Fire hears the cry of the land and the people — and this is our urgent Nepal flood appeal. Now is the moment for those burning with the fire of God’s love across Australia to rise, to pray and to give, so that Love In Action can reach those who are in the deepest pain.

Apel Powodziowy Nepal — Miłość w Działaniu na Miejscu Tragedii

Wierzący z Australii niosą Bożą miłość w strefy katastrofy przez modlitwę i dawanie

A nation shaken by water and stone

On 26 August 2026, a catastrophic flash flood tore through central Nepal after a glacier collapsed high in the Himalayas. Rivers such as the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rose with violent force, sweeping away homes, bridges, crops and livestock. Entire communities have been impacted across the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha. National reports speak of more than a thousand deaths and thousands missing, with tens of thousands of people displaced and traumatised across the region (NDRRMA, UNFPA, UNDP).

Remote villages have been cut off from the world. Roads and bridges have collapsed, communications are unreliable, and access to clean water, medical care and safe shelter is desperately limited. In some valleys, people are surrounded by mud, rubble and the shattered foundations of their homes — and yet heaven is searching for sons and daughters who will carry the fire of God’s love into this disaster zone through disaster relief and unceasing prayer.

Love In Action: Generation Fire on the ground

Generation Fire partners in Nepal are already moving into the affected areas, bringing both practical aid and comfort in Christ. Teams are visiting camps for displaced families, praying with people standing on the ruins of their homes, and delivering food, blankets and medical supplies. This is Love In Action — those who burn for Jesus refusing to look away, choosing instead to stand in the gap where the waters have torn the land apart.

💡 Prayer focus: Ask the Lord to strengthen local believers, open safe access routes, and pour out supernatural comfort over traumatised children and families.

Urgent needs: being the hands and feet of Jesus right now

In this critical first phase, your giving to the mission fund Australia is helping to meet urgent, life-saving needs. Our partners have identified the following immediate needs for families affected by the floods:

  • Emergency shelter and warm, dry bedding for families sleeping in schools, tents or under tarpaulins.

  • Clean drinking water, water purification tablets and safe sanitation to prevent disease outbreaks.

  • Urgent medical care, treatment for injuries and basic supplies for the wounded, the elderly and the most vulnerable.

  • Food relief and ready-to-eat meals for families who have lost crops, livestock and stored grain.

  • Search and rescue equipment and transport to reach cut-off communities still isolated by landslides.

  • Temporary repairs to damaged roads and bridges so that aid can continue to flow into remote valleys.

Long-term needs: rebuilding with hope and resilience

The waters will eventually recede, but the road to full recovery will take years. As an apostolic movement, we do not only respond to crisis; we also sow into long-term rebuilding. Your ongoing partnership will help meet these long-term needs:

  • Rebuilding homes and community infrastructure in flood-resilient ways, to protect families from future disasters.

  • Livelihood support for farmers and herders — seeds, tools, restocking livestock and agricultural training to restore income and dignity.

  • Psychological and pastoral care, walking with survivors on the journey from trauma to healing, hope and renewed faith.

  • Disaster risk reduction: early warning systems, reforestation and stabilising riverbanks so communities can stand stronger in a changing climate.

📌 Key truth: Every seed you sow today helps rebuild not only houses, but altars of worship and places of refuge for generations to come.
